Had just one unpleasant experience in over four years. Good place to eat, lunch waiting times for food can be a little long.

Completely incompetent. There's a short and long version of this story. The short version is: We placed a (very simple) order, they messed it up, we went back to have them correct it, the manager came out to clarify what it was we wanted (all over a request to leave one ingredient off a sandwich) and supervise the making of the order, and they STILL got it wrong the second time. The long version... We went here and ordered a Reuben with meat on the side. We're vegetarians, so we obviously don't eat corned beef but still love the sandwich with out it, and give the meat to our dog. We've literally ordered this at Arby's locations all over the country (we drive cross country for work assignments regularly) and never had a problem. It was a carry out order so we ordered and went home only to discover that we were given two pieces of bread with thousand island dressing in the middle, and a mass of cheese, sauerkraut and corned beef all melted together in a box on the side. This is obviously not meat on the side, and it would have been impossible to separate out the meat from the cheese and sauerkraut, so we went back and explained their error, once again requesting a Reuben sandwich with only the meat on the side and everything else in the sandwich. The girl at the register still expressed confusion. I still don't see how that explanation could have possibly confused someone, so we rephrased: "Just make the Reuben just like you normally would, only don't use corned beef. Don't put it on the sandwich. Put it on the side instead." She was still confused and so she WENT TO GET HER MANAGER. Seriously. I understand that there are a lot of people who are critical of or make fun of vegetarians, but even if she was one of those people who doesn't understand *why* someone would choose to eat a sandwich without meat on it, how would that keep her from understanding *how* to make one? Anyway, the manager comes out and asks us to describe in detail what exactly we want. We looked at each other in disbelief. Um, didn't we do that already? My husband said, "We would like a Reuben sandwich, only with no corned beef on it. Instead, please put it on the side. Just take the two pieces of bread, put thousand island dressing on them, then put sauerkraut and swiss cheese in the middle, and heat it up. Then put the corned beef in a box or something, on the side. Just like you would normally make a Reuben, only instead of putting the corned beef on the sandwich, leave it on the side." He spoke very slowly and we were sure at that point we had communicated what we wanted. I mean, even if that girl could not, for whatever reason, understand simple instructions, surely the store manager could, right? WRONG. We get home and find that they gave us a sandwich with just thousand island and sauerkraut, and the corned beef with swiss melted to it on the side. Again, there was no way to separate out the cheese to put on the sandwich. We just gave up and didn't go back. We figured that if even the manager was too much of an incompetent oaf to handle a simple request to leave one ingredient off of a sandwich, that asking them to try again wasn't going to turn out any better. We fed all of it to the dog.
